Brief Description:  Plenums ready for paint

It's official. I've found the best spray can filler. Duplicolor makes a high build filler primer in a can that is sandable in just 30 minutes. I had my doubts, but this stuff filled 36 grit scratches with just 2 coats. UNREAL. I'm not sure about it being tomato red, but its quick cure and easy to shoot and sand feature make it, hands down, the best guide coat, scratch filling primer I've ever used. This will be stocked in the shop for sure.
Now, todays work was basically sanding down all the micro inside and out, then removing the aft end 2" vents and repairing the holes with 2 plies UNI glass. To remove the 2" aluminum vents, I took my heat gun on high and held it oover the glass that covered the aluminum for about 2 minutes. At that point the Epoxy bond let go and I was easily able to pop the vents out and remove the glass. Too easy! I was able to save the vents without having to cut them out, which would have sucked! So then after glassing them and filling them in, I shot grey primer all over in prep for one last round of sponge sanding and then hammered black paint. I'm going to leave them in grey while I begin hacking up the cowls to ensure the paint job doesn't get beat up. Stay tuned :)
