Brief Description:  Screaming "paint me!"

It never ceases to amaze me how valuable it is to slow down and take your time on the small things. I was dreading the stupid cowl to fuselage gap line because of its time consuming, tedious nature, but boy did she turn out good! After another round of hunting low spots, sanding them down, then prepping the shop for primer, I laid down another 2 coats of white. This time, the coverage was better, so I was able to add a 3rd coat to areas that needed more build up. There is still more filling and contouring to do, but each time I do it, they seem to go away even faster. After she gets wet sanded again, I should be able to easily see any and all final imperfections. The most problematic areas have been the sumps, where a combination of major surgery, and complex curves really take a lot of time to fair and contour in a symetrical duo. I would say I could tackle all the last flaws in one round of Z-grip on monday. Whether or not the next round of primer will be the last I can't say, but no more than 2, that's for sure. And that most likely means, I'll be flipping her back onto her feet next weekend :) Though, I'm still debating if I should swap the wheels and brakes while working on a stool or on the ground. Hmmmm...
