Brief Description: Air box gets glassed to the firewall
This Airbox installation is a bit nerve-racking in that I'm trying to avoid any kind of flex tubing for the air path. That means all the mating parts have to line up exactly to accept the silicone coupler. For that, I went ahead and brought the engine up to the firewall again and got it lined up as best I could then bonded the air box to the firewall using superglue to hold it's position. I then pulled the engine off again, and used Flox corners and 1 ply BID all around to bond the box to the firewall permanently. After that I whipped up some micro and flushed the forward scoop edges to the turtle deck. Looking forward to seeing her in paint and a mirrior finished firewall as well. On a side note, I got to see how the oil cooler outlet plenum looked with the engine installed and it turned out sensational.
