Brief Description: This prop is breaking all kinds of records, and so
|
|
This 63x69 prop has given me all kinds of surprizes lately. She's been the one to induct N316NM into the 200kt + Gentlemens club. and today revealed a couple secrets. She's NOT 63" long. In fact, I don't know how Gary Hertzler measures his props but this one comes in at 62.5". And not only that but I found one of the blades to be 1/16" longer than the other. Oh well, I was planning on re-finishing her anyways, so now I can really polish this one up. In 4 hours, I was able to remove the prop, sand down the paint, trim and match the tips both in shape and length, fill a couple voids, add 3 coats of my FAVORITE Satin Nickle metallic, Shoot a nice thick layer of clear coat and get her balanced perfectly. How's that for speed! Now that her blades match and she's all painted, I think she's ready for the speed ball. Long ez will be proud to take her out :)
