So I finally decided on the installation of the Boot housing for pilot and passenger. After all options were considered, I decided to clear the console area just enough to allow the fabric to recess into it. This then allows me to bond just the top half of the boot housing onto the console itself. This, being a 2 ply layup, now sits very flush with the console and looks fantastic. Now I just need to find a quick dry silicone to bond it in. I'm very happy!
