So I removed the oil cooler plenum, sealed up the lower cowling and went for a test flight. I climbed out at full power to 7500ft to see my oil temps stay below redline. Nice. Looks like the naca vane is helping a little. Still not great, so I'll be installing the second oil cooler for sure. BUT, the great news today was that my Roll servo heat shield worked! No more autopilot failure! Boom! This is really good news when it comes time to pee in flight :)
