After finding out that Eastwoods Awesome 2k spray clear was out of stock and back ordered for 2 weeks, I canceled the order and was told by the employee there that what they sell is just a re-labeled can of SprayMax 2K and marked up $5. What! Shoot, I was able to order from Spray max cheaper and get it here in 3 days. I first lightly scuffed the paint with a red scotchbrite to removed surface imperfections and to create a better mechanical bond for the clear coat, I then throughly cleaned it using a wax and grease remover and then a tack cloth wipe down just before spraying the clear. I was able to lay down 4-5 Really nice thick coats of clear with 2 cans, alternating blades as I watched carefully for imbalances and added small amounts of final clear in a dust coat to balance the prop just right. Now after cure, there may be a couple thick spots to sand down, then cut and buff out the orange peel for a perfectly smooth glass finish, but I want to be careful not to cut too deep. This of course is why I laid down so many coats. This prop already looks stunning and it's not even buffed and waxed yet. Shoot, I'll probably get a few more RPM when she's done! :)
