Brief Description: Final exterior glass, foam removed and micro on
The really nice thing about fast cure West systems is that it allow me to do 2 days of work in 1. I don't see why I'd use the slow stuff again unless I'm skim coating a whole wing or something. The glass was trimmed, and the final 2 plies UNI was added to the aft trailing edge which cured quick enough to trim up before adding micro all over. I was fortunate to have the time as well to carve out all the foam inside in prep for a ply of carbon for the interior. After sanding down the exterior micro a bit, I noticed that I'll need to plan on adding quite a bit more micro than I wanted in order to get a nice overall contour. Knowing I'll be making a new cowl someday, I don't mind the added weight for now.
