So apparently the temps inside my cowling are getting so hot, that my wingroot foam is expanding even behind the heat barrier. This could give clues as to why my oil temps are still high. Bringing my exhaust pipes inside the cowling should help as well as a good ceramic coating. In the meantime, I need to fix the wing root issue. I cleared out the area where there was contact with the control system, re-applied heat shielding and RED RTV and now the system is ready to go. The better fix would be to re-glass the wing root, but that would require removing the wings. That is certainly an option as well down the road.
