Since I was in the LED mode, I decided to see what the rear (GIB) "Girl in Back" side lights would look like if I replaced it. I first tested the new strip LED on the rheostat to verify that it would dim down to basically "off" – and it did. I cut off the circular connector on the LED and wired up the two-wire connector and crimped two knife splices on the stripped wires to mate with the fuse wiring and away we go. Test time.
The difference is, well, night and day! :) The new LEDs are so much brighter I have decided to order some more and replace the front red/white lights too.
The first picture below is looking down from the top view, so the left side is on the bottom. You can see that the lights point down at the arm rests and the one at the bottom is much brighter than the top. The 2nd picture shows the 45-degree view looking aft, so right is left and left is right...and right is bright!
