Brief Description: Cowling #10 - Drill top cowl for top hinges
With the holes drilled through the cowl side hinge, I cut the .090 stainless steel pin with extra length and installed the firewall and cowl side hinges on top. I then installed the cowl, confirming it was lined up with the four reference marks (left side, top center, right side, spinner). Using the new long flashlight recommended by Bob, I started to match-drill the hinge holes through the cowl. It worked well, limiting the flashlight to a small beam; I could see through the hinge hole and drill where the light came through. Access on the right side is easy using the oil filler door, but I had to enlist the help of my beautiful bride as the flashlight holder on the left side hinge holes. Getting some shop work done with my significant other is always good.
