Brief Description: Cowling #8 - New top right hinge drilled
Since I am unhappy with the tapers and fit on the right firewall-side hinge, I cut and drilled a new hinge and tapered it with the hand file method. To protect the hinge area between the eyelets, I cut a small tab of stainless steel to fit between the eyelets that are being filed. It worked out well. I also drilled the holes, using 1" spacing, for the cowl-side hinge, which can be drilled on the bench, and tapered the eyelets in the curve on that side, too.
