I worked on the left front baffle today, getting it to the pre-final stage, where it must be riveted and trimmed. This included the debluing, deburring, and riveting of the air dam. With the basic baffle structure intact, it was then the iteration of trimming back the baffle to clear the engine case at the front so that the two attach screws would insert, and the baffle was clear and contact-free.
At this stage, the only baffle parts left to prep are the two halves that go over the front of the crankshaft. Those are fit, along with bending the front and side baffles, so this is an excellent place to stop working the baffles and jump over to the cowling. I removed all the baffle parts and stored them in the box for later fitting.
