Brief Description:  Flap Relay wiring #3

Today, I connected the power wires that feed both relays. Each relay has a jumper, so there are four terminals on the two relays. With the relay wiring complete, I flipped the master switch on to power the circuit and test the up/down movement on the flap motor. Using the extra ground wire, I had to simulate the pilot stick connection; I grounded the "up" ground wire and then the "down" ground wire, but unfortunately, the test failed, and the motor did not move at all. It's time for trouble-shooting mode. First, I confirmed that I had hooked up the wires to the correct posts on the relays (per my schematic), and then I removed the flap motor wires from the relays to confirm that the flap motor was working. The flap motor works fine on the external APU power unit, and I also tested it on the airplane power wiring, which checked out, too. Unfortunately, there are no more shop days this year as we travel to New Orleans with Holden and Kassie to see the Texas Longhorns play in the Sugar Bowl! I did shoot an email off to Ralph showing him my schematic and asking for some guidance on getting the flap motor to behave.

Since this will be my last entry for 2023 - here is the annual work session hours.
