Brief Description:  LR3D Regulator Wiring #2

I picked up where I left off and continued the process of wiring the LR3Ds, and once I had it all wired, I was looking at the different "F" (field output) lead connections that go from terminal #4 to the alternator. There are a few different options for the F lead connection, depending on which alternator one has. Since I have B & C alternators, I figured it would be easy breezy, but I wanted to "think ahead" and see what connections I had in the alternator boxes. I saw the two F Lead connectors for my primary and backup alternators. The cool part was that the connections were already installed onto a long supply of wire. The bad part was I already cut and installed wire for the #4 field, but I can still use that wire elsewhere. Since I had already started lacing practice and was done with the lower portion of the Backup alternator, I had to remove the wire I had just installed and replace it with the B & C version. This meant feeding it thru the firewall pass-thru and doing the crimping, testing, and lacing while it was in the airplane. No biggy. I will need some more practice at wire lacing and presentation as I have a ways to go.

I placed a call to B & C Specialty and spoke to Nathan. I continue to be inpressed with the customer service of that company!

I also took a large portion of log time to catch up on getting all the wiring (up to this point) input into my electrical plan. Glad that's done.
