Brief Description: Wingtip Lighting – Right wingtip
I did some more sanding of the opening for the right wingtip lighting. It’s a somewhat tedious process of placing the light assembly in the precut hole and marking the interference areas with a pencil and then sanding away the marked area, and then seeing how close you got by placing the light assembly back in the precut hole. Basically, you keep doing this until it fits well...then you are ready to do much of the same. To make it fit even better…Did I mention that there are 40 pages of instruction on the installation of the wingtip lights? (Actually, it isn’t that bad, there are lots of pictures on each page.) I wanted to see what the final fit would look like, so I pulled the painters tape off. I will have to put it back on to finish off the fitting.
I have the right light assembly fitting fairly well and before I get too deep into this side, I will start on the left side.
