Tonight was another time in the shop where at the end of the night, two hours had passed and I was amazed and how little I had gotten done...but I also completed tasked that had to be completed, enjoyed my time in the shop and made progress - so I call that a good day in the shop.
I measured and drilled the hole in the slide block for the cotter pin or safety wire. I chose to use safety wire. I also measured and drilled the holes in the bulkhead that secure the anchor block in place. Those holes are drilled blind as the anchor block is hidden behind the bulkhead when it is in it's proper position, so I took plenty of measurements and then estimated where the block would be in relation to the bulkhead and drilled the two holes thru the bulkhead and thru the anchor block. The nuts are press fit into the back side of the anchor block at a depth of 1/4" and the front side of the block has to be countersunk and the bulkhead gets dimpled.
