Brief Description:  Elec Flap Motor - testing

Other pics but saved them in the wrong place, ... later. Maybe

Had to finally address a repair issue. Moved the UHM block nutplate on the baggage compartment rib by fabricating a 'repair' overlapping rib flange and riveting it to the rib. Necessary because the nutplate was installed within 1/4" of the correct location and it left insufficient material to properly attach a new nutplate with the correct alignment. After doing this, I tightened up the UHM blocks on the end of the flap control tube (Rt & Lt).

Connected the linkage, found an approximate power source and wired up the electric flap motor to the toggle switch. Although the power source was a little weak (10v) it worked, and the manual motion of the flaps linkage proved that the UHM blocks have a surprising resistance. I expect this to loosen up with a little usage.

Having determined everything else in the system, I ordered the FPS sensor from Aircraft Spruce and will install it on the left flap arm.

Also did some measurements on the approximate location for drilling openings for the flap linkage through the fuselage.
