Brief Description:  Fuselage top skins - trimming

Removed fwd and aft top skins and trimmed edges. Used soldering iron to heat and remove strips of protective plastic along rivet lines. Trimmed, filed, and ScothBrited all edges. Also, deburred all bulkhead holes. Vaccumed out debris.

Clecoed aft skin back on, and fwd skin just secured for temporary storage.

More work to do on deburring, and preparing for dimpling.

Spent sometime reviewing plans for F-689 fwd control tube, and bellcrank position behind baggage bulkhead. Determined where to drill the hole for the bellcrank but will NOT proeceed on this until further review of skins. Want to make sure that top skins are "final" before commiting to the hole drilling for bellcrank, due to the possibility that the hole position is affected by movement of the bulkheads if the skins are re-fab'ed.

Reviewed Dan C's website - found info on how to position the F-689 into the tunnel without bending. Prelim cut to 47 1/2" but need to carefully removed measurments before commiting to the final length. Need to insert aft end fitting (AN...) and needs primer paint before this can be done. Prelim fitting to the control stick tubes and examined fit and movement.
