Okay, the portion removed from the forward cover section is 'supposed to be' about equal to the new section added for the fuel injector high pressure pump and filter. Due to the use of RV-7 components in the RV-6A, I hesitated to cut too soon. I allowed almost 3/4" of extra length on the front section until I can determine the exact fit of the aft end.

So, even though I marked the cut-out portion that goes under the FI housing, I trimmed off the extra and will do the cut-out later.

Another significant issue in determining 'fit' is the manual trim cable, which originally passed through the center of the F-604(?) bulkhead and through the web of the wing spar. With all the FI plumbing in this housing, the routing of the cable is problematic. I 'might' fit under the whole assembly, but almost certainly cannot pass through the original holes in the spar and bulkhead. New holes would have to allow the cable to pass to the left (pilot's side) of the housing and on the outside of the FI housing cover.

This route is also problematic because it must not result in alignment with the main spar bolts, where reinforcement seems to be vertically positioned in the spar. This may require a Tech Support message to determine the correct alignment.
