Finished the preparations to modify the 2nd flap brace, Rt wing. Faster than the first and easier process.
Fabricated the patch before cutting the brace to the 'step-up' on the spar root. The marked and drilled the patch to the brace. After removing the patch the brace was cut-off with snips, and the cut edges dressed, while the holes were deburred, dimpled, and prepared for riveting. By fabricating and drilling the patch to the brace before cutting, the position of the brace is exacting the same after the repair. The portion of the brace removed lets the spar root to be countersunk, and the brace dimpled for CherryMax rivets - per spec. (Without removal, there is no room to perform the work.)
Also address Detail D, Drawing 17, on the flap nose area to relieve the area of the step-up.
