Gave up and replaced the ShopMaster bandsaw. It was having too many deficiencies and the Ryobi had some definite advantages. I should have found it before wasting money on the ShopMaster, junk.
Details; the Ryobi has a 'fence' and a blade quick-change release. On both pulleys there is a small brush to sweep off the rubberized track of the pulley and prevent build-up of debris. The blade guard/guide has a rule to show the height of the guard from the table. There is a 'safety key' that can be removed. The slide guide (T-guide)? has a place to be stored on the back of the saw. The light feature has a slot to attach it to the saw case, with a thumbscrew ... toolless. NONE of these features exist on the ShopMaster.
