Brief Description:  Rear Fuselage belly pan

This evening I bent the top longerons as per the plans, not as scary as it first seems, although I did used suggestions from the Orndorf Fuselage constuction DVD. It jsut required lots of shear grunt.

I have also cut the 6 rear fuselage J stringers to size and shape.

Following this I also moved onto installing the rear formers into the tail wheel belly pan. This requried cutting a slot in the pan to allow the tail wheel spring gear to exit the fuselage, then clecoing in the formers. Because the skin is so thick, its really hard to get the formers to conform to the shape of the belly skin, but after lots of coercing and bending, shaping, fitting, removing and re-installing I finally got a workable fit.

I then removed the formers to allow installation of the tail wheel backet, which was first back drilled to the front former followed by the rear former.

Job done, I can now move onto the rear fuselage itself!!!

Yeah.
