Using the soldering iron and a long strait edge, I removed the plastic from the areas that need to be dimpled and deburred etc. The alclad surface scratches very easily even when just running the soldering iron over the plastic to remove it, but its all going to be scuffed anyway for etch priming. Its a shame really to have to paint it as it looks fantastic all shiny and silver.
Now just to mark all components before disassembly.
