Brief Description:  Trial fitted the wings

I got up this morning with the intention of getting stuck into the etch priming of the rudder and horizontal stab and then moving onto preparing the fuselage, however when I went to mix and thin the etch primer, I realised that I did not have any of the special thinners required for the paint, and I did not feel like wasting 1.5 hours to go and pick some up. So I gave my father a call instead and asked him to come over and help lifting the wings into place. I knew this was going to be a painful experience and I was not wrong. The wings went on and came off many times as we trimmed the edge of the wing skins and tried again to see if we could locate the bolts through the centre spar box. Finally the deed was done. I also drilled the holes in the torque tube for the flap drive, after setting the correct gap between the flap and the rear wing of 6mm. The instructions give no measurements for the expected distance between the wing tip and the rear of the fuse, I chose the centre of the rear most bulkhead which supports the rear turtle deck as my reference point and measured to the wing tip as show in the plans and got a measurement 1580mm for both wings. I was also really pleased that the location for the flap arm which goes into the Nylon bush material (I located this as per the plans with hole drilled at the suggested location) fitted perfectly with no extra drilling required other then enlarging the hole slightly. My maximum flap down deflection is 27 degrees the instructions suggest 30 degrees but I am going to leave it at that.
