Brief Description:  Fitting the fibre glass wing tip

I fitted the fibre glass wing tip as best I could, the fit of the nose left about a 10mm gap between the leading edge wing skin and the wing tip, so I roughed up the fibre glass piece and added some fibre glass filler. I am going to sand this back to conform to the shape of the wing skin etc. to give a nice pleasing finish. While the bog was setting, I drilled all the rear ribs and inserted rubber grommets so that I can run a cable to the wing tip to fit a strobe. After much deliberation I decided that visibility would be a good thing and have ordered two strobe heads. I decided against getting the dual head units that include the red and green wing tip lights, seeing as I will never do any night flying in this aircraft given its registration catagory. The strobes out on the tips should however make me more visible during the day, especially in circuit. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it. Had a visit from my neighbour and his two boys this evening, they have been wondering about the strange noises coming from my garage, so decided to come and have a look. I gave them the tour including a demonstration of dimpleing and riviting. Nothing like sharing the passion, hope I didn't bore them too much, I guess if they come back I did a reasonable job of it.
