Brief Description:  Upgrade Compete after 4 months

Even though I didn't really start the upgrade until the end of January 2010, its been a long time since I have flown the Zodiac, December 2009 to be exact.

I did all the wing and center spar upgrades at home, but this meant removing those parts and moving them 2 hours down the highway to where I live. The re-installation was done over a period of eight 1 day weekends.

Yesterday for me the major part of the upgade was complete and I went for my first fly. I have one issue to resolve, the airspeed indicator does not work properly, max indicated is 40 knots, everything hanging off the static is fine (ALT, VSI) so I can only guess that I have either a partial blockage or a kink in the pitot line.

Anyway, the plane flies as it did when I pulled it to bits, I managed to correct a heaving left wing during the upgrade, and it now flies strait with no aileron tirm required.

For those of you still building or doing the upgrade, keep going, this is a beautiflully simple aircraft to fly, its a real pleasure to be able to go cruising again......
