Brief Description:  Finessed the control interference; compass card; c

I had previously calculated the compass correction values; wrote them on the compass card, applied some sticky to the card holder, and stuck it on the compass.

Installed one end of the canopy lanyard; had to use longer-than-spec'd bolts to allow one thread to protrude from the screw once installed.

Lastly, spent some time adjusting the hole in the fuselage thru which the aileron control rod passed; at full aft deflection, the rod was rubbing on the hole on the right side, rubbing off the powder coating. In the picture, at about the 5:00 o'clock position, you can see the relief cut I made with a drum sander. Of course, once the right side was freed, the left side then rubbed, so it took a few back and forth attempts to get it all free and clear. The fuselage side panels are furnished in the kit; they are two identical pieces. The wings, however, do not line up perfectly with the hole in the fuselage, because one wing (the left) sits a bit in front of the right wing. Remember- the wing spars cover the full width of the spar tunnel, so the left is about 1/2" further forward than the right.

Spoke with the on-field instrument shop to arrange for obtaining my transponder cert (DFW class B veil) and weighing the aircraft. I borrowed one set of scales and broke one (crap!). I tried to rent a set of good electronic scales, but the place I was going to rent from didn't have them available.

At this point, I just have to sit the canopy in place and toss-in the upholstery, have it weighed, and schedule the inspection.
