Brief Description:  Brain work / redesign stick wiring

About half of this recorded time was based on brainwork, talking to vendors, and redesigning my stick grip.

Was trying to determine where to run my ADSB antenna; Main issue was that I have some coax on the right side of the plane, and one really shouldn't have parallel runs of coax next to each other. If I mounted the ADSB antenna on the oeft side, in order to maintain spacing from the main xpndr antenna, a 1 meter distance is required. Which would put the ADSB right under "the boys." Even though it's only 18 watts of power, I'd want it somewhere else. I decided I can now run coax down the left side and most the antenna a bit further back in the fuselage.

Next up was the stick functions. My stick grip has 5 separate functions - one PTT and 4 of my choosing. Ray Allen Co gives two wiring diagrams, but they assume you will be controlling their servos from all 4 switches. Speiaking with the company a few weeks ago, I believed that I was to use one of their diagrams for what I want - two switches for trim, and two for comm functions. When I finished wiring the other day, it just bugged me. I thought "that can't work..", so I called them up today. The confirmed my beliefs and tried to tell me that I'd have to use a relay to control the servos. Well, the more I thought about the switch grip architecture, I was convinced I could do it without relays. The resulting design is in the figure below. It's been implmented and checked out with a power supply and multimeeter.
