Brief Description:  Wing details

a lot of time spent today just piddling around.

Deburred many parts; some needed for the Left wing, some needed now; removed labels with MEK, a razor, and lots of wiping to get the adhesive off.

Positioned the fuel tank spacer angle.

Installed the root rib; up-drilled rear spar attach holes; deburred. Went to attach root nose rib, but my spar is somewhat different; the root angle that is normally up to the builder to form and install came pre-installed on my spar, which would normally be great. However, it sits a lot taller than expected, and the angle is not as sharp as I would have expected, which prevents the root nose rib from seating against the spar. I sent a picture to Zenith to see if they want me to bend it, trim it, or bend and trim.

Worked the spar tip extension quite a bit. This comes pre-drilled to #20, but for the sections that rest on the spar angles (the thick extruded parts), they must be updrilled to #12 for an A6 (a big'un!) rivets. Fortunately, I had 3/16" cleco's the gold ones shown in pic 3 from my prior build, so everything is just fine.

Removed nose rib #7 (3rd from tip) to locate and pilot drill the tie down ring/bracket. This required measuring and clamping the ring bracket to the nose rib, then drilling #40 pilot holes, which were thn up-drilled to #20 final size. It doesn't get riveted until the wing is skinned. No pic.
