Brief Description:  Finished main gear axles, test fit nose, drilled n

Obtained slightly longer AN4 bolts to secure the main landing gear axles. Factory spec'd AN4-15A, but no threads would show through the nut, so obtained some -16A's (man, I'm glad AeroPerformance is just down the street!) Had to ream-out one of the right axle holes - it was about a thou off-centered, just enough to prvent the bolt from sliding through.

Marked a centerline on the top surface of the firewall in order to position the upper panel cover.

Bolted the nsoe wheel fork and doubler together.

Test-fit the nose wheel bearings and axle & spacers. I thought at first that the axle was drilled wrong because there was pretty good play. Turns out I forgot to install the supplied heavy washers under the bolts.

Identified where to drill the axle to allow a cotter pin to be inserted. First hole, the #40 pilot bit snapped about 3/4 of the way thru the hole.... Rats. Could not drill-out. Drilled the other end for fun. It came out just fine. I used a V-block, used to hold tubular items for drill press drilling. Went back to the bad side. Decided that if I drilled it 90 deg to one side and just a bit further out, I should miss the lodged bit. Worked great. Unfortunately, the stock turned just a bit, resulting in an off-center hole. Hello, Zenith? Can I buy a new axle? So, waiting for that for a few days.
