Brief Description:  Engine Choice Made! (and purchased!)

Up until about a week ago, I was still tossing around thoughts on which engine I'd use. I was email chatting with a friend, and he pointed me to an eBay auction for a very nice engine. Had a prop-strike, but doesn't sound major. All accessories (carb, mags, alt, starter, oil filter adapter) and relatively low time - only 1100 hrs since overhaul. Carb, starter and LH mag were all replaced only 130 hrs ago, so big cost savings there.

I'm in the process of tearing it down so I can do the right thing and send-out the parts for non-destructive testing to make sure the case, crank, cam, gears, etc., were not damaged in the prop strike. Allegedly there is only .001" of runout on the crank flange, and you're allowed .005", so I'm WELL within specs.

This AM I discovered that I can't get the cylinders off without special cylinder base nut wrenches. They've been ordered.

This engine was running up until October, so all in all it has not suffered the ravages of weather.
