When I installed teh upper panel yesterday, I noticed that the panel cover protruded out further to where it was partially occluding the GPS antennae - at least, the navigation one.
So I set out today to ensure that the antennae could receive. Rats. They could not.
I removed some of the cleco's and raised the right side of the panel up just a bit to provide room. Using metal snips, I cut-back the lip of the panel to show more of the antennae. Retested. This time I got a good signal and depiection of GPS data on the screen. I was even able to track some ADS-B In tracks. Re-cleco'd the upper panel. Checked the reception again - still fine.
Riveted both A5 and A4 rivets holding the panel cover in place. Rechecked recception. Still good. Just didn't want any surprises.
