I re-read the plans sheet for the motor mount. The face of the mount is supposed to be parallel to an imaginary reference line at the bottom of the fuselage. However, the line is offset from vertical by 3 degrees. So I got to thinking, and clamped a straightedge to the bottom of the fuselage, using the sides of the lower floor stiffener as an attach point. The front end of the straightedge sticks out enough to set a level on it to calibrate.
The trouble is, I used 3 digital levels, and all 3 were different! Surprisingly, the iPhone level was the most consistent and in line with what the expected results would be, so I went with that.
If I'm reading the plans correctly, and thinking clearly, I need to add 3/16" to the lower mounts, pushing out the bottom of the mount enough to equal 3 degrees offset.
I'll call Zenith on Monday...
