Applied heat shrink label tubing to the 7 wires coming out of the stick grip. Don't know if I'll be able to have trim activated from the grip; wiring issues with the way I have it.
After painting the panel (many coats) I ran a tap thru the 8 nut-plated holes to ensure any paint did not clog the holes.
Ran the rudder cables from the hell hole area to the aft end of the plane. Since these were upgraded to the pre-fab cables, the cable ends were already swaged-on. Which mean the would not pass thru the existing slots in the fuselage side skins. Had to fashion a hook out of a clothes hanger to grab the cables, then pulled them out the top skin (unriveted at this point). Filed-open the cable slots just a bit, then passed the cable ends out thru the normal cable exit points. Much cleaner now.
Biggest task was installing the aft torque tube support bracket. This mounts to the support bracket crossmember that sits on the forward edge of the hell hole. Had to install the cross member, then determine where the bracket should attach to the crossmember, clamp it, then remove the entire assembly. Removed and drilled, then up-drilled two holes to 3/16" for AN3 hardware. Re-installed crossmember, then installed the end bracket, and bolted in place.
