Spent quite a bit of time wiring the Ray Allen G-205 grip. This has 5 buttons. For my installation, it will be 1) PTT 2) freq select 3) memory channel selection 4) trim up 5( trim down.
This required soldering 7 long leads and 6 short (1.5-2") patch wires inside the switch housing. Tedious.
Used a multimeter to check that each is wired correctly with no cross-connects msssing things up.
After that, I worked on installing the battery shelf. I did not drill for the upper part of the strap, because depending on which battery I decide to use, there will be about a 3/4" difference in screw placement.
Center screw on the lower L angle has a nutplate to be riveted on the inner side of the firewall so that strap may be removed.
