Brief Description:  Initial fitment of front torque tube bearing block

After installing the aft torque tube bearing block & bulkhead into the fuselage, I concentrated on the fwd block.

There are 3 parts to the block - the main bent piece (fwd most), followed by a nylon bearing block thru which the rudder cables are routed, followed by a backer plate for the others. These all came pre-drilled from the factory. Bolted them together and tried to slip them onto the torque tube. No luck. First off, the plans call for AN3-4A bolts. But the original design didn't have the backer plate, and it is not shown on the plans. As a result, the bolts were too short. Fortunately I had some extra -5A bolts on hand, so re-assembled with the longer bolts. This was before I tried to fit it onto the tube.

So once it wouldn't fit, I dtisassembled and sanded the inner bearing surfaces. Tried again. Still no go. After several attempts, the block fit well but no slop (as desired). Started to clamp in place with the two L-angles that rivet to the front of the seat support. Discovered that the L angles ride on top of the lower L-angles for the console, so had to shave-down the L-angles just a bit. After a bit of movement, got it initially clamped in place and called it a night. Still have to clamp the L-angles before drilling the rivet holes
