Brief Description:  Prep fitment of flaperon torque tube

Thinking of the tasks to be accomplished today, I thought I'd be done in 45 mins or less. Ha ha....

First up was installation of the drive motor for the flaperons. The anchor bracket was riveted during fuselage box assembly. Installation consisted of drilling the holes in each end of the motor to 1/4" to accomodate the attach bolt, followed by attaching the actuator control arm to the end of the motor shaft.

Next was modification of the flaperon bellcranks. In pic 2, you'll see one hole larger than the others. This larger hold had to be drilled-up from the size of the other two to 1/2" to fit over a bushing on the mixer tube. There are also two nylon bearing blocks that have to have a 1/2" hole centered in each.

To install, a steel buxhing is slid over the threads of the mixer rod. The first nylon bearing is slid over the bushing, followed by the bellcrank, then the other nylon bearing. This is capped-off with a fender washer, a castellated nut is installed, and cotter-pinned. The long arm will be attached to the vertical flaperon control rod that goes up to the flaperon, and the short arm goes to horizontal rods that tie-in to the torque tube assembly.
