Brief Description: Flaperon control tube bracket and upper fwd fusela
No pics.
Drilled pilot and full sized holes in the L-angle stiffener that fits behind the flaperon control tube bracket/bearing. had to trim a bit off the edge of the bracket to get it to fit fully in the L of the angle.
I'm glad I did the next step, because it would have really messed things up if I hadn't. I was up-drilling the pilot holes in the upper fuselage skin doubler that serves as a mate point for the aft fuse to the cabin frame tubes. Something didn't seem right, and I noticed the fwd edge was pulled away from the longeron a bit more than I expected.
At this point I vaguely recalled a point in the HomeBuilt Help video where Jon said it's sometimes better to attach the upper crossmember first, *then* install the fwd fuse support pots. I removed both posts and the upper crossmember, and everything then liined up nicely. I'm glad I did to prevent hole damage while drilling.
Also spent considerable time filing-down the front edge of the upper longerons to fit the skin and doubler.
