I have decided to go ahead and prime everything in the wing (although I’m going to skip the Sanchem for most parts). To that end I shot primer using an airbrush into all of the screw hole CSKs, over the nutplate rivets (factory heads only) and a few places that I had scratched the anodized finish off the spar. That finished up the spars and I moved the right one out of the workshop and into the basement to get it out of the way. I’ll bring it back in once I’ve completed Section 14 on the left wing. My plan is to complete each section on the left wing and then go back and do the right immediately before moving on to the next section. That way all of those steps and lessons learned are still fresh in my mind which almost always translates into a shorter completion time and better results for the right compared to the left.
