Brief Description:  Moving to the airport

Today is the big moving day!! I had solicitated my EAA Chapter and had 6 guys on hand to help me move. The day before I had picked up the Chapter's trailer which is an old converted boat trailer with a plywood deck and large pieces of angle that is bolted to act as a channel to hold the main wheels in-place. The trailer also has three large wooden ramps. For the RV-10, the process is take the tongue wheel off the trailer so that the trailer is as low to the ground as possible. You then back the plane up the ramps and load from the front. You can't load from the back as the RV-10's wheel track is the same width as the trailers tires meaning you'd have to pick the plane up and over the wheel wells. Having moved an RV-10 on this trailer before, I knew loading from the front was the way to go. Some of my helpers had their doubts, but we had the plane loaded and tied down in less than 10 min, and most of that was figuring out the best tie-down locations on the fuse.
