Brief Description: Cut and profile ribs and shear clips
I'm waiting for Prekote before I can do the priming on the horizontal stabilizer parts. There's been a shortage of Prekote at Aircraft Spruce. They told me they haven't gotten a shipment since October 2017. I called the manufacturer, Pantheon Industries, and they said there's no shortage on their end. I don't know what's going on between Aircraft Spruce and their supplier. I found a single gallon in stock at SkyGeek and snatched it up before it disappeared. I should get it by Friday the 25th.
There's not much left to do before priming the horizontal stabilizer parts, so I decided to start on the elevator to keep busy. The first step is to separate the E-1008 into A and B halves. These were cut and sanded back to the proscribed boundries, but I didn't deburr them yet.
The E-1022 shear clips are also cut and profiled. I had a difficult time with these small parts on the belt sander because they heated up quickly and I had to let them cool a couple of times before I got them profiled correctly. The elevator only needs three of them, but for some reason you get four in the kit. I'll keep one as a spare when, I mean if, I mess one up.
All of the elevator ribs. They still need to be deburred.
Shear clips. Tough to process because of their size.
