Brief Description:  Riveting Problem & Deburred RHS Parts

After thinking about the problem I decided to use the edge of my back riveting plate to buck the rivets in this tight area, but this proved to be challenging. The longest rivet set I had was the double offset and the retaining ring on the gun was contacting the rib putting the entire set at a slight angle. I tried to buck anyway and badly clenched the rivet. The head also didn't sit flat on the opposite side. It's clear it'll have to be drilled out, however it's in a tight spot so it won't be easy.

I ordered a proper tungsten bucking bar from Cleaveland Tool that fits in that area. It's 3/8 in. wide and the space where the tail pokes out is just a shade over 1/2 in. I also ordered an extended AD4 rivet set so I can get a straight shot at the head this time. The LH aileron was put aside for now until I get the proper tools.

I pulled the RH parts off the shelf and started deburring and countersinking them. The small parts for the hinges were completed and are ready to rivet to the end ribs. I still have to deburr the ribs, but it was dark by that time so I shut down for the day.
