Brief Description: Counterbalance Ribs/Skin and Trim Tab Skin
I got new E-903 and E-904 ribs from Vans a few days previously. I didn't get the skin because it looked like the fault was in the ribs and not the skin. Turns out I was right.
Everything lined up beautifully this time. It was about as perfect as you can get. All holes were final drilled and deburred. I deburred the ribs and skin edges and put them aside.
The trim tab ends needed to be final trimmed and deburred. This proved to be a bit challenging since I couldn't use my band saw to rough cut the end. The part was just too bulky and awkward to use the band saw. Instead, I pulled out the tin snips. Now you've got to understand that I hate using the snips. I can never get good results with them. I'm just a butcher with these things. I still haven't used them enough to figure them out. I managed to make a horrible ragged cut in the excess material that I took to the sander to smooth out. Fortunately, I didn't cut past the the marked border and the sander did a great job making a nice straight line out of my hacked edge.
A quick pass of the edges on my Scotchbright wheel and the parts are deburred.
Everything fit together perfectly this time.
Each end of the trim tap skin has a slightly different profile.
