Brief Description: Add Stiffener Angle to Baffling/Oil Breather Tube
I initially cut off an angle bracket of .040 x 3/4 x 3/4" for the aft left corner of the baffling where the oil cooler will be installed. After positioning it in place, I noticed that the screw hole on the left baffle will just barely be covered by the bracket, thus not providing much support for the screw. I made another bracket of .063 x 1 x 1" for that corner and drilled it to the left side baffle. I pulled out the oil breather tube and positioned that in place on the firewall.I put it in an Adel clamp and screwed it in place, then I read the drawing OP-27 for the installation. The lower end should be beveled and an ice drain hole should be drilled in the tube between 6 and 9" above the bottom. I cut the radiator hose to the proper length for each end and installed the clamps. After reading the instructions, I pulled the tube out. I used the Dremel cut-off wheel to bevel the tube end and smoothed the edges on the Scotchbrite wheel.
