Brief Description: Final Install of Flight Controls
Before riveting the sheet metal structure together, it is necessary to install the flight controls. Once the side panels are installed, it would be very difficult to install the collective assembly. The only parts I haven't painted yet are the the cyclic torque tubes. I have coated the contact areas with Dry Film Lubricant. Due to the tight fit, I will have to apply the primer and topcoat after assembly. After tightening the nuts to the required torque, I applied a yellow torque stripe to the nut and exposed threads. At a glance you can tell which nuts have received a final torque. Later on, during pre-flights, I'll also be able to tell if the nut has loosened.
