Fabricated the eight lift strut (flying strut) attach fittings from 11ga (.100") 4130 sheet steel. This was a difficult task given all things that had to be considered (drag/anti-drag cable routing, strut attach clearance, strut angle, fastener (bolt) placement, etc.), but after several evenings of study I was able to fabricate a part that I think will work well. The strut attachments allow for proper placement (centering) of the drag/anti-drag cables, proper alignment of the attachment with the lift strut (31 degrees) and should allow ~1" of clearance from the strut attachment to the fabric, which is ~1/2" more than Bernard allowed, and is what Mr. P.F. Beck recommends.
