Skip has been working on fitting side stringers to the fuslage. He used some of the stringers that were on the airplane and had to purchase and make stringers (correct size/length) for 4 or 5 of them. They were stained with Minwax "Red Chestnut 232" stain. Some of the stringers were not long enough so they had to be pieced together to get the proper length.Special areas (front at door and at the tail cone) were fitted separatly. Skip had made the wood piece that is needed on the rear (behind the cockpit) longron earlier and took this time to to make sure the worked with the new side stringers and finally glued them on. They should make a nice transition and give the Hatz a nice round fuslage fook. The remaining fitting will be when we reattach the wings and determine how the bottom stringer works with the wing.As we looked at this attachment, the bottom side stringer was in the way. We will look and determine how they will come together to make a smooth transition from wing to fuslage.
