Welcome to my experimental aircraft Web site. This adventurer started when I attended the U.S. Sport Aviation Expo in 2009. Took many demo rides and hundreds of pictures trying make up my mine on the kit to build.
Fixed Wing with STOL capabilities was what I thought I was looking for. Dofin Fritts and his RAF 2000 changed all that. He answered my questions and gave me a demo ride. I asked Dofin if there was anyone closer to home I could talk to. He recommended I contact Jim Vanek at Sport Copter.
After 2 years of money saved and extensive research of all the Gyroplane kits. I trip on over to Scappoose Oregon near Portland to see Jim's Vortex Gyrocopter. The M912 is a newly re-designed Vortex. As Jim puts it, "Beefed up" and just what I was looking for. Jim also calls it his flying ATV.
The information Jim gave me answered every question on my list and more. I order one on the spot and asked for an assembly manual and received one to take home with me. It was mention that since the M912 is so new that the manual was not complete.
So any reference in my construction log about the manual missing or lacking is to help potential trouble spots for a builders and a new manual is under way.
Sport Copter technicians are more than welcome to answer my questions and help with issues. They always have constructive comments after reviewing my web construction log. It may turn out to be a very useful communication tool.
I hope everyone who visits will enjoy and other Vortex builders benefit from.
